Create a news article
Fields explained
Most of the fields for creating a news article are self-explanatory – it is clear how they are used in the website and how they’re displayed. Below are some descriptions of the fields that you won't necessarily see on the news article itself but will have an impact on whether or people can see the article.
Categories
To keep things simple, the categories can be managed ad hoc, and any category you have used before will be in the dropdown menu for you to select. However, you can also create new categories as you go, and they will available when you next create/edit articles.
Thumbnail & Image
The suggested image dimensions are displayed next to the label of these fields.
- Thumbnail 720 pixels x 380 pixels (displays on the main News page)
- Image 1280 pixels x 600 pixels (displays on the article page itself).
Published
Make the ‘Published’ toggle green when you are satisfied with the content and happy for it to be live on the website. If the toggle is turned off, the article will never display on the website.
Published At
This is a generic field used throughout the website – you'll spot it in the Careers section, too. In this instance it is similar to the ‘Posted At’ field and you can simply set them at the same value. However, if this date is in the future the article listing won't display until then.
